I haven’t written a post in a while, I’ve been so crazy busy and just haven’t found time to sit down and write recently, so I’m so sorry!
A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to spend a weekend in the city with my boyfriend and two friends and figured I should share some of the things we did! Luckily, as I’ve said before, Toronto is only a short drive away from my hometown so I get to visit often, but I’m usually not down there for the entire weekend so it was a nice change!
We headed downtown Saturday morning, we had tickets for the Blue Jays game which started at 4 pm that day, but we went earlier in the day to watch the Russia VS Croatia World Cup game at a sports bar while we ate lunch. It’s a bar I’ve visited a bunch of times as it’s right in between both stadiums downtown (Scotiabank Arena and Rogers Centre) called Hoops Sports Bar & Grill and it’s located on Bremner Boulevard! They have a LARGE selection of drinks there and it’s got one of the best strawberry daiquiri I’ve ever had (I’ve had a lot- they’re my favourite).
Our friends met up with us there and when we thought the game was as good as done, we headed over to Rogers Centre to catch the game. We were obviously wrong about the game because we heard the people behind us saying that Russia had scored to tie it and my boyfriend being a huge soccer fan began streaming the game for the four of us, plus the four people behind us so we could watch it. It was pretty funny to be cheering about the soccer game while there was nothing exciting happening in the game right in front of us!
The friends we went to the game with headed out for one of their birthday dinners and we met up with some other friends to head to his house for his surprise party! So it was a fun Saturday night for sure!
Then on Sunday, we turned around and headed back to the city so I could go to Centre Island for the first time ever! We went with the same friends from the Jays game and just spent the day at the beach.
All in all, it was a really fun weekend and I’m super happy I FINALLY got to cross Centre Island off my bucket list after living an hour away for 23 (almost 24!!!) years!
